The dandelion

Hi.

"What I need is the dandelion in the spring. The bright yellow that means rebirth instead of destruction. The promise that life can go on, no matter how bad our losses."
-The hunger games

Consider the dandelion.
It is one of the sturdiest flowers.
It can grow in fields of green or asphalt.
When it blooms it is with the most beautiful yellow flower.
Dandelionchildren are kids who have gone through difficult times and somehow still blooms later on in life.
In my life I have often met, and seen, these beautiful beings.
Every time I do, a sense of gratitude comes upon me.
Gratitude for the opportunity they bring.
The opportunity to experience something so beautiful as life in the making.
Thank you.

Remember the distance between fact and fiction

Hi.

The other day I saw a picture of a poster that said “Remember the distance between fact and fiction.”
Truly a wise statement.
The important thing to note is not how wide the distance is but that there is an distance.
Gautama Buddha told us, according to legend, on his deathbed, to be an lamp unto yourselves.
Same principle, think for yourselves.
Remember the distance between fact and fiction.
It doesn't matter if the distance is an inch, it is still there, present.
Remember to be wary of it, but not to get attached, or grasp it.
Let it go, but don't miss it.

Thank you for your practice.

The bowl and the telescope

Hi.

I sometimes get the question as to why we have so much talks, texts and interactions in our tradition.
I have two analogies as an answer to that one.
First, only meditating is like putting a bowl of milk on the table and expect it to become butter.
You have to churn in order for it to turn into butter, thats where the interactions come in.
Next, Meditation is like an giant telescope turned inward.
Theory, talks, texts are there to point out what you should look for.
You might have an very big and shiny telescope, but if you don't know what to look for...
The same applies to the other way.
You might know, in detail, what to look for, but without a telescope to look into, how will you find it?

 Personal realization is the key.
This is your Journey, so just fasten your seatbelts and enjoy the ride.
We must each and all find our own way to the realization.
Noone else can do it for us.
We do this by reading texts like this, experiencing the world, observing our mind, our thoughts, the world around us.
Doing it this way we come to truly understand the nature of us.
Of you.

Thank you for your practice.

Box of chocolates

Hi.

My momma always said, "Life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get."

- Forrest Gump

Life is uncertain.
That is one of the beauties of it.
What if life were certain?
What if you already knew everything that would happen in it?
What then?

Also, this uncertainty opens up a million possibilities.
What you achieve is all up to you.
The possibilities are endless.
What do YOU do with that?

Thank you for your practice.
